U Mobile teams up with Sun Life Malaysia

One of the ideas along with U Mobile’s Unlimited Ideas has come to life with Sun Life Malaysia. They’ve teamed up together and announced their new partnership to give telco-assurance to U Mobile’s base which consists of over five million customers. And their collaboration has two solid reasons. This is the first time where a life insurance is offered through telco service provider in Malaysia and also the first time Malaysian will get to apply, subscribe and manage their life insurance coverage all via their smartphone.

U Mobile’s Chief Executive Officer, Wong Heang Tuck, shared that the telco is very driven by it’s customers’ passion and has an unlimited list of ideas on how to benefit customers. He pointed out that insurance coverage is just one of the many services the telco will be launching the year. “We believe that all our customers would want to have unlimited peace of mind during their time of need. As a start, we will be partnering with Sun Life Malaysia to offer microinsurance which provides necessary and adequate protection and low monthly premiums.”

Raymond Lew, CEO & President / Country Head of Sun Life Malaysia who was also there at the signing ceremony. He stated that this could bring awareness to Malaysian because according to the 2012 Underinsurance Study that was done in Malaysia, nearly 5 out of every 10 Malaysian does not have an heallth insurance.
