Acer's ChromeOS powered Devices are here in Malaysia

Acer is no stranger to the notebook and other computer devices market. They’re also one of the few companies that makes Chromebooks and Chromeboxes. And now, their Chrome OS powered devices are here in Malaysia, which was announced last week. Acer’s series of Chromebooks starting from 11 inches all the way up to 14 inches and Chromebox, let’s you use the devices for education all the way up to enterprise.

First, we have the Acer Chromebook R 11 738T. This laptop packs a 11.6” inch display and also comes with a 360-degree dual-torque hinge design, which lets you switch from laptop to a tablet just by folding it. It runs Chrome OS and it also happens to be the first chromebook to support google play apps. It weighs around 1.25kg and it’s pretty much light. Not just that, it also has a premium aluminum top cover, which gives the metallic finish.

It packs a MIMO 802.11ac for super fast internet connection. It runs an Intel Celeron Quad-core processor which is based on Braswell micro-architecture.

Acer Chromebook for Work 14 CP5-471 is a business grade Chromebook with a Core i5-6299U based on Skylake that’s powering it under the chromebook. Not only it has some top notch specifications for the chromebook to run well, it also has a military grade certification.

The screen is protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for scratch resistant and so on. The keyboard and touchpad are designed in a way to resist 330 ml of liquid water spillage. It also can withstand up to 60 kg of downward weight placed on the top cover and a drop from a height of up to 45 cm. It has a 14” screen in a 13” body, giving you a really good viewing experience.

Acer Chromebook 11 N7 C731 is a Chromebook that’s targeted among students. It comes in two different variant. The base variant comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB Internal Storage whereas the higher variant comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage. But other than the specification, rest of the features about this device is the same.

It also has a Military grade certification, where the laptop is able to resist up to 60kg downward pressure and also also free drop from heights up to 122cm. It’s also capable of funneling up to 330 ml of spilled liquid to the drainage holes underneath the keyboard, thus protecting the components from accidental spill.

It powers a Intel Celeron dual-core processor N3060 with 2x2 MIMO 802.11ac for faster data connection to give you a really good performance.

Acer Chromebox for Meeting CXV2 and Acer Chromebox CXI2 is for both education and business. With this, you get pre-installed web apps and more than 30,000 additional applications, themes and extensions on the Chrome Web Store. It stays updated every six weeks.

The Chrome Remote Desktop gives the options for users to Remote access another computer via a chromebook. You can access applications and files on a Windows system and perform a disk optimization task from a chromebook.

The chromebox features a dual-band wireless LAN and a Gigabit Ethernet and also a fast data transfers and access through the USB 3.0 port. And it is also secured with Chromebox’s TPM (Trusted Platform Module) which generates and stores cryptographic keys.

The Chromebox for Meetings gives you a complete videoconference set. Users can join the meetings from browsers of apps running ChromeOS, Windows, MacOS, iOS or android without any problems. The camera is equipped with a Carl Zeiss Full HD Wide Angle lens with fast AF and automatic low-light correction, and the Microphone and Speaker System have wideband frequency response, built in DSP for speech clarity.
