Asus unveiled their Zenbook 3 & 2 Variants of Transformer @ Computex!

Hey folks. In case you didn’t know, yesterday I made a post on Asus releasing their all new ZenFone 3 Range and I am pretty impressed. And if you didn’t read it yet, Click below to read more about it.

Onto the other stuff ASUS launched in Computex yesterday. Windows powered devices. The one which helps us in productivity and entertainment. Asus launched the the company’s flagship portable machine. One ultrabook and two 2-in-1 Transformers.

As we all know, Asus Zenbook is one of the sexiest designed laptop by Asus ever made and this year, they launched the New Zenbook 3.

Zenbook 3. The world’s most prestigious Laptop with Unprecedented Performance.

They have redesigned the whole ultrabook. And now its even beautiful than you think. It has a 11.9mm chassis and weighs in at 910g. The Zenbook 3 is constructed from a aerospace-grade aluminium alloy. It’s stronger than the standard alloy used in laptops. 50% stronger to be precise. And there’s that signature spun metal finish. Comes in 3 colors. Royal Blue (which I like), Rose gold and Quartz Grey (which I love). One thing that makes the Zenbook stand out from the croud is that gold highlights on the diamond cut edges.

Now specs. Comes with the latest and greatest Intel Core i7 processor, a whooping 16GB (2133 MHz) RAM, and up to a 1TB PCIe 3rd generation x4 SSD, the next gen USB C Port. The speakers found in the device is a quad speaker from one of the best audio company, Harman Kardon. The display, turns out. It’s a High Resolution 12.5 inch display. Has a 72% NTSC color gamut. And don’t worry about scratches, this thing is covered with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It has the slimmest bezel possible, to pack in a huge display in a small body to maintain the compact and light looks.

The cooling system in this, is a never seen before tech. It features the world’s thinnest fan design at 3mm! Incredible Performance in an ultra thin form factor.

The keyboard on the Zenbook 3, is a full size backlit keyboard with a 19.8 mm key pitch, same as most of the desktop keyboard. And thank god. The 0.8 key travel gives a good typing experience. Touchpad. Glass covered. Precise enough. Gives the smoothest and accurate input. It has a palm rejection technology, smart gestures and handwriting support. Which is a good thing.

In terms of security, worry no more. This baby comes with a Fingerprint sensor and Windows Hello. So you don’t have to worry about entering the pin all the time.

Finally, battery performance. Asus claims that the Zenbook 3 gives up to 9 hours of battery life. And charging it is easy as a cupcake, as it can charge upto 60% in just 49 minutes.

Now onto the next Tech piece.

Asus Transformer 3 Pro. The World’s most versatile PC.

This one is a 2-in-1 PC. It has two terms I really love. Portability and performance. It’s made up of aluminium, and this device is 8.35mm thin. The diamond cut strikes again. Comes in two color - Icicle Gold and Glacier Gray.

The Transformer 3 has a Metal kickstand, which can go upto 170 degrees. The Asus Transformer Cover Keyboard is probably one of the nicest accessory I’ve seen till date. Because its a backlit keyboard, 1.4mm key travel. Giving you the nicest typing experience possible. And the colors they come in is - Stone, Charcoal, Taupe and Amber.

It has a 12.6 inch display which comes in a resolution of 2880 by 1920 and a 275ppi pixel density. And a gamut of 121% sRGB color space for the nicest color possible. Features a Harman Kardon speaker. Dual Front Stereo.

In terms of spec, it is powered by - again - the latest and greatest Intel Core i7 processor and has up to 1TB PCIe X4 SSD and 16GB (2133MHz) RAM. It has a USB-C port that not just help in charging but also supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 devices at speeds upto 10Gbps, and Thunderbolt 3 which gives a whooping 40 Gbps data transfer and it also support for not single but dual external 4K UHD displays. It also comes with a full size HDMI port and a USB 3.0 to connect all your current device without any issue.

At the back we have a 13MP Camera to shoot really crisp pictures and at the front with Windows Hello facial recognition for better security.

And finally,

ASUS Transformer 3 - The Mobile PC, Redefined

It is also a 2-in-1 PC. Weighs in at 695g, 6.9mm thin. Has a smaller dimensions than a sheet of A4 Paper. You can see the Diamond cut edges and the spun metal finish which makes the device stand out from the others. The Transformer Sleeve keyboard has a 1.4mm key travel, an integral 2 position display stand and a glass covered precision touchpad. Comes in the same color as the Transformer 3 Pro comes in. Icicle Gold and Glacier Gray. The keyboard sleeve comes in 4 colors, Stone, Charcoal, Taupe and Amber.

It has a 12.6 inch display at the resolution of 2880 by 1920 and a 275 ppi pixel density for sharp and detailed images. Adding on to that, a 450cd/m2 brightness and a gamut of 121% sRGB for rich and vibrant colors. The bezel is very thin. Has a 80% screen to body ratio. It gives the best video performance with the ASUS Tru2Life Video technology for the best media experience possible.

It has 4 high quality speakers. Again, its by Harman Kardon. Powered by a smart amplifier, giving you a rich, detailed experience even with loud volume. Here’s one of my favorite, the direction of the sound depends on the orientation, which is dope.

Finally the specs. It’s powered with the 7th Generation Intel Core processors and has upto 512GB SSD and up to 8GB RAM, which is good for work and play. Has a USB C Connector, supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 devices at speeds up to 10 Gbps and Thunderbolt 3 provides an insane 40Gbps data transfer and the support for dual external 4K UHD Displays. It has a built in Fingerprint reader and Windows Hello for easier log in process. Has a 13MP rear camera to capture rich and good looking pictures.

The Transformers 3 and Pro comes with wide number of accessories which I will be covering in another post very soon.

Here’s my opinion on the PC and Laptop the released yesterday. Zenbook 3 is probably the best looking device, with the top of the line specs. Which is really great for business. One thing I am disappointed is that, they could have included 2 USB C instead of 1. But it comes with a Hub where you can connect your HDMI, USB 3.0. But then 2 would have been better.

Transformer 3 Pro is probably my favorite as I can hook it up to a 4K Display. And the specs for that small device is wicked. Kinda looks like the Surface. But then, it’s still my favorite. The keyboard comes in catchy colors. And many more. Did I tell you, these Transformers are VR-Ready? But you need something to complete your setup, which I will be sharing tomorrow.

Transformer 3 is awesome as well. If anyone is looking for a work and play device, portability and a good performance. Then this is the one to go. One thing I am confused about is, does the Pro come with a fingerprint sensor as well. I don’t mind if it doesn’t have one but then I am curious.

If you ask me, If I had the chance to use either one of the above. Which one will I go for?

I would go for the Transformers 3 Pro. I have been using Ultrabooks for the past 2-3 years and it’s time to step up my game. So, let’s see whether I get a chance to play with this badboy.

As always, thanks for reading.
I will catch you guys tomorrow with another post tomorrow. Most probably, will post 2 article. But I guess we’ll see about that. Haha. Be sure to follow me on my social network as I will be sharing exclusive stuff.
