Your First Look: Xiaomi Mi 5 - Exclusive
*** Disclaimer: This is not my phone. Secondly, Posting this has nothing to do with Mi Malaysia. Swear to god. And this is just me, trying out my friend’s Mi 5. I don’t know the price kay. Okay. Let’s go. ***
I was too bored. Playing some random Youtube video, listening to trap and stuff. Until my friend who actually showed up with his Mi 5. Yes. The flagship released by Xiaomi, which was launched in February 2016. In case you guys, don’t know about it. Here’s a quick rundown of the spec of the phone.
The Mi 5 was announced earlier at the Mobile World Congress this year and at China at the same time. This is the company’s all new flagship device. Which has the best specs in town and has the capability to go head on with the other flagships in the market like the Samsung Galaxy S7 (Snapdragon Variant), LG G5 and so on.
Here’s the specs on the Mi 5:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Octa-Core
- 5.15” FHD Display
- Front fingerprint sensor
- IR Blaster
- 4G+ Network & VoLTE
- 16MP Sony Camera
- 4-axis OIS
- NFC (Finally!)
- 3 GB RAM + 32 / 64 GB or 4 GB RAM + 128 GB
- UFS 2.0
- Quick Charge 3.0
Let’s look at the phone itself:
On the front, we see the 5.15" FHD Display. Along with it's fingerprint sensor beneath the screen. On top of the screen, we actually see the Mi Logo on the left. And on the middle, we have our earpiece speaker, proximity sensor, 4MP Front Facing Camera and an LED Notification light.
Moving on to the back, we have our 16MP Sony Sensor camera up top. On the bottom, there is the trademark Mi Logo. Nothing much. And its a curved glass.
Moving on to the side, there is the volume rocker and the lock button. And on the left side of the phone its actually a clean finish with just the SIM Tray.
On the bottom, we can see the Antennas. And our USB Type C Port followed by the two speaker grills at both the side of the USB Port.
And finally on top, we have two antenna bands again. A 3.5 mm Headphone jack to the left side and at the middle is the IR Blaster.
Well, In my opinion. The phone actually feels darn light in the hands. No joke. Lighter than my Mi4i. Due to the curved glass back, it is actually nice to hold. Feels premium. But a bit slippery. One thing to note is due to the glass back, the phone is prone to smudges. But other than that, there are no other design flaws. This phone follows the same design language as its cousin, The Mi Note. (Not the redmi Note ah!)
I didn't get the chance to test in terms of specs cuz it's not my phone. Haha. But one thing for sure, I have a feeling that this phone performs really well. I hope I can get hands on one of these beast for myself or something.
Well, let's hope for the best. Well, that's all folks. I hope you guys enjoyed the First look on the Mi 5. Please share it with your friends and family. And I'll catch you guys in the next post.
Till then.
